As we all know, improving your mental health isn’t magic. You don’t just wake up healed—it’s a lifelong struggle, and you have to work harder than most to stay afloat most days.
That’s why, in addition to therapy and meditation, I’ve made it a point to research different coping mechanisms that provide me relief and comfort in addition to what I have going on in my life.
One of the things that has been providing me that sense of safety and calmness is The Gravity Blanket! I know these blankets aren’t super new, but I’ve seen a lot more mental health advocates endorse these blankets, so I’ve always wanted to try one out. Thanks to the generosity of the people at Gravity Blanket, I’ve had the best sleep of my life over the last two and a half weeks! I also wanted to use the blanket for a while so I could genuinely get a feel for it before bringing it to you all.
I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety since I was twelve years old, which is also when my insomnia began. In college, I would get so anxious that I wouldn’t sleep for days! Since receiving this blanket, I fall asleep in minutes, and I’ve slept completely through the night. I honestly can’t imagine sleeping without this blanket, and kind of regret that I’ll likely have to leave it behind when traveling.
I know the cost is steep. Gravity Blanket is awesome, though, because they allow you to use a service through Klarna where you can make four-part payments. I got the Cooling Blanket, and I’m so grateful that the blanket works exactly as advertised. Also, it really does help during those nights when I’m super stressed about work or life in general to feel the steady weight of the blanket on me.
If you’ve been following along with my blog, you know I value transparency, honesty, and I promise to maintain that as I explore doing more posts like these, endorsing products or services. My hope for all of us is to sleep well, sleep regularly, and not have to stress about doing it.
